Arkansas Transit Association Training Program

Arkansas Transit Association’s award-winning training program is widely known as one of the most effective and innovative in the country. In partnership with the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department, ATA provides public transit, paratransit, and community human services agencies the widest scope of specialized passenger transportation trainings available.

All courses can be conducted either on-site for an individual agency or as  “Open” classes for anyone at the Arkansas Public Safety and Resource Center in North Little Rock.  While most trainings are presented for a nominal materials fee, ATA members enjoy a discount.

Training & Education Coordinator, Russ Parish delivers a variety of training courses, including classes developed by the National Rural Transit Assistance Program, the National Safety Council, the National Transit Institute, and the American Heart Association.  In response to specific training needs of ATA’s members, Mr. Parish also created training modules on child safety seats, evacuation drills and transporting developmentally disabled passengers.

We invite you to view a full list of current training classes, their length and costs.

On-site classes are in high demand; therefore, regional coordination is encouraged.  If you need a particular training course, please view the training calendar to determine whether the same class is already scheduled in your area or if you can schedule one when Russ is traveling nearby.
